Looking towards the final outcome, Roman visited the lesson giving the class some tips on how to better their photography, this included looking at a photographer called Shawn Davis. This photographer isn't particularly focused on hand photography, however one of the photo's where captures his hand is quite intriguing, this photographer is good at achieving high quality in his photographs via the manipulation of light. I then discovered i that quality such as this can be achieved by manipulating the light on photoshop by adjusting curves.
This process is used by many photographers when trying to achieve a certain level of quality that may have been much more difficult to achieve on via the camera.
I decided to use curves to experiment with the exposure, as this could help give me a better idea of what my final outcome will look like, furthermore i must consider attributes such as the natural light in the frame and how this will be effected, and ultimately effect the whole photo. on the right is the an original photo which i have used for the experimentation.
I experimented by looking at how the photo would look with low exposure, and high exposure this proved very effective, giving off certain connotations. for example the photo on the left, has a low level of exposure, this adds sternness to the photo, creating a serious atmosphere.
This photo has a higher level of exposure to the point that the objects in the frame almost seem artificial, giving connotations which are much less serious and focused purely on graphics.
After looking at this photographer and light manipulation, i decided i would freshen up my mind, as the oyster card theme was taking up a bit too much of the spotlight. i then decided i would look even closer to hands past the point of objectification, and to the point of personification.
